Nanga Greener Zone is a community conserved area of 14 villages, who have pledged to protect river Dikhu and its surrounding forests.

The eco-system of River Nanga River in the riparian strip the river and its feeder streams, have been strained by destruction of forests, uncontrolled hunting, soil erosion due to jhum cultivation, and overexploitation of fish, causing fast depletion of aquatic life, wildlife and the forests. To address this, the Nanga (Dikhu) Greener Zone was formed in 2012 by the 14 villages. The village councils of all 14 villages unanimously agreed and declared half a kilometer as conserved area on both sides of River Dikhu, evenly stretching throughout 300-400 metres on both sides of its thirteen feeder streams from Sumi Settu village to Phuye village.
